How Do You Know Following Your Purpose Will Bring Success?

“The quality of your life and the work that you do is inherently tied to your purpose.” -Lia Dunlap (03:42-03:48)

How do you permit yourself to honor your purpose? You know that something's calling you because that's where the question came from in the first place. I've always believed that the quality of your life and the work that you do is inherently tied to your purpose. In this week’s episode, Lia Dunlap talks about how you can figure out that following your purpose will bring success.

Part One of ‘How Do You Know Following Your Purpose Will Bring Success?’

One of the most common questions I hear people ask is, "How do I know if I'm meant to follow this purpose? How do I know that I will succeed if I take this leap?" I love these questions for two main reasons.

First, something inside of that person is starting to bubble to the surface. It's that moment where the thought keeps nagging them. Have you ever imagined yourself sitting in a meeting or a zoom call, feeling like everything you do is pointless? They struggle to be where they are because their mind is so pulled away in different directions. Second, it speaks to the fact that these people are running empty for so long.

“Have an actual written down plan and align it with what you are truly meant to be doing so that you can live a life of purpose, prosperity, and significance.” - Lia Dunlap (21:00-20:59)

I understand many people have not figured out their purpose in life. The truth is, it’s not for me to answer that for everyone. It’s for YOU to gain the confidence to know that for yourself because you’re longing for a sense of fulfillment. The beauty of your purpose is that it can be found right where you are right now. Now, ask yourself, what does that look like?

You’ll know when you’re aligned with your purpose because it reflects on how you show up in the room or any environment in a way that brings exactly what you're meant to bring to the table.

Part Two of ‘How Do You Know Following Your Purpose Will Bring Success?’

At the end of the day, do you feel anxious? Do you feel underaccomplished? Do you feel like you're almost there but not quite yet? It looks as if you can touch or taste it, but it's not quite substantial.

I spent much time early on in my career trying to live in two worlds, and I’ve gained much knowledge along the way. Back in the corporate world, when I was into sales and marketing operations, somebody used to bring me their idea for a business or an entrepreneurial endeavor. I can immediately envision it and see how the structure works. So, I didn’t lose any of that while following my unique life purpose.

“Once you start to align with who you are, the opportunities begin to flood in to support you.” - Lia Dunlap (22:46-22:57)

Think about it. When are you going to be ready to put down all of the excuses? To focus on the opportunities that may get you to the next level. To wake up in the morning and know the clients you're serving, they get the absolute best from you. And by giving it to them, you’re eager to talk to the next person to pick up the phone. To get on the next Zoom call, not because it's just another one thing on your list, but because you know that’s the impact you've always wanted to make. To be excited to work on the first book you’ve been dying to write.

I know what it's like to think that it can't be that easy. Somehow, it's got to be hard. Somehow you got to pay the price. But how long until you realize that you’re ready? Have an actual written down plan about how you can take everything you have to offer right now, align it with what you are truly meant to be doing and deliver it to the world so that you can live a life of purpose, prosperity, and significance.
