Try spending a few minutes
scrolling through Zach Benson's account in The Gram, and you can't
help but be mesmerized by his amazing adventures in the most
magical places on the planet. Everything sun, sand, water and
fun... these are the stuff we have in our dream boards where we all
want to be whisked away.
Life has definitely
been a beach for the young founder and CEO who started Assistagram
in 2015, a marketing agency that empowers hundreds of influencers
and several Fortune 500 companies to build their organic following
massively.
In this episode, I am
grateful to engage in an insightful conversation with Zach as we
discussed what it's like to live the best life, what shaped him in
finding his purpose and how he continually delivers that into the
world.

Zach's early experiences shaped his character.
He grew up with a speech impediment
and had bouts with childhood bullies for looking different. His
adoptive parents provided consistent support and love that
propelled him to achieve many things in his adult years. What keeps
him grateful and grounded is knowing his Korean roots and finding
his birth mother, a big part of his journey of
self-discovery.
✔️ Zach
has always been a doer and an action taker, which can be good and bad in many moments.
"I've had to kind of balance it out as I've grown. But I think the
biggest risk is not taking one. At the same time, you got to have
that belief that that inner desire, that faith, that no matter what
happens, you're just going to keep pushing forward and keep going
for it. And at the same time, you got to learn how to listen to
advice and slow down so that you can go faster and hit your goals
faster."
✔️ His
work ethic is formed mainly by his volunteer work
experience living on two
dollars a day for food, helping refugees find jobs and homes for a
year with World Relief. He built this into his business and brand
to be centered on how to be able to serve and make others lives
better.

Traveling has been his life's biggest teacher.
"Meeting people in the plane, Uber
and all of the many places where I've been, asking them questions
about where are they from? Or how did they end up here? And what's
going on in your life? As you listen to them, you get different
insights that come to mind and build your own".

reminds people not to be afraid to show up. "The world is beautiful, and we have the
opportunity to inspire people through social media. I encourage you
guys not to be afraid to put out some content even if it's not
perfect or super polished; if you're feeling something in your
heart and mind, go and share it."
